What the Cousins have Wrought

This summer at Snowbird the older cousins put on a rendition of "Potter Puppet Pals in "The Mysterious Ticking Noise"" that in my opinion was better than the original which you can view HERE.

Unbeknownst to us, our youngest was paying attention.

This Sunday we made puppets in nursery at church and as we got in the van to go home, a brown paper bag began to bounce back and forth in the back seat. Moments later a small voice began its own rendition of his cousins' master piece.

What do we learn from this?

1. Yes, young minds hear and remember EVERYTHING!
2. Having a good extended family makes raising your kids that much easier.
3. It is literally true that what comes from the mouths of babes can confound the "wise."
4. It's impossible to know what will find purchase in your kids' mind.
5. Like we've always believed - kids arrive perfect. As parents our job is to see them safely grown without screwing them up too much.

Regards.......

Thanks to you Jack sang "Severus Snipe" all morning. The 4 year old mind is a sponge. I've got to be careful about that.
