I always have lonely socks left over when I do wash. Where do their mates go? Does the washing machine eat them? Do they spontaneously combust in the dryer? If I rewash them will their mates reappear? Are they just doomed to a life of loneliness, to eventually become baseboard dusters? It's a mystery!

Ahh, finally a blog that ponders the truly deep and meaningful questions of my life.
I think their mates are over at my house 'cause I have the same little pile.
