On the way home from Utah this year we decided to try going a different route. So, we left bright and early Sunday morning and went to Vernal. We visited the temple and then moved on to the Dinosaur National Monument and the beautiful Green River. What gorgeous country, something about the desert landscape really appeals to me! From there we went to Steamboat Springs, Colorado and spent the night. Steamboat Springs is another beautiful place. After a night in Steamboat Springs we drove up through the Rocky Mountains to Estes Park. That was a magnificent and slightly terrifying drive. I think even the Churnmiester had a few moments of adrenaline fueled terror as we were driving the van AND towing our wave-runner up steep, narrow roads. It was a very long trip but it was also extra fun and a lot prettier than our usual route through the emptiness of Wyoming. (You can click on the picture to make it bigger)

Nice collage. Estes Park was in our stake when we lived in Colorado. It really is beautiful up there, but the drive IS a bit scary! :) Glad you made it home safely.
